From October to December 2011, Canadian Tire and the NHL traveled the country to find the most skilled youth hockey player (ages 7 to 12). After being to 15 communities across the country and seeing about 2,500 kids competing, Canadian Tire and the NHL announced the names of the finalists who will compete in the Canadian Tire NHL Junior Skills™ National Championship in Ottawa during the 2012 Tim Hortons NHL® All-Star Game weekend (January 28-29).
The players who will be competing at the Canadian Tire NHL Junior Skills™ National Championship represent every province across Canada. I am very excited to let you know that one of our finalist is a member of the London Devilettes Girls Hockey Association.
Keith Heard and Katherine (player) will be coming to Ottawa for the National Championship.
Canadian Tire is providing to the finalists the opportunity to showcase their skills (fastest skating, shooting accuracy, puck control and passing accuracy) during the Canadian Tire NHL Junior Skills™ National Championship taking place on Saturday January 28 on the Rideau Canal Skateway. Six competitors (a boy and a girl from each of the Novice, Atom and Peewee age divisions) will be recognized as the 2012 Canadian Tire NHL Junior Skills™ National Champions. Also, all finalists will have the opportunity to experience the 2012 NHL® All-Star festivities in person with access to: the NHL® Scotiabank Fan Fair, the Molson Canadian NHL® All-Star Skills Competition and the Tim Hortons NHL® All-Star Game
Congratulation and good luck this weekend Katherine.
